My story begins as a child, thoroughly enjoying the delicious food my mom baked each day. Not only did she bake, but encouraged me to express myself through baking (believe me –we have home videos). Baking was a shared passion until a few years ago when my mother found out she had Celiac Disease. My mom all but gave up a life-long love of baking due to the frustration she experienced trying to bake gluten free.
About that same time I left home, and the home cooked meals of my childhood. I moved to Muncie to attend Ball State and prepare for a career in Sports Administration. Eventually, my college years behind me, I moved back home. One day, not long after I moved back home, I decided to adapt my favorite recipe so that I could make a batch of chocolate chip cookies sans gluten for my mom.
This first success with gluten freedom encouraged us to work together to make more and more baked goods until there were so many things in the house we could not eat it all. And the rest, as they say, is history. This was the beginning of “The Measuring Cup”.
We pride ourselves on having the “best of both worlds.” Our products taste GOOD and are gluten free! As I do not have celiac, my taste buds have not been subjected to mass-produced commercial gluten-free foods. I have not forgotten what “real” food tastes like. Therefore, we absolutely won't sell anything that does not taste GREAT.
Our products are gluten free, and are baked in our gluten-free kitchen upon receipt of your order so as to ensure freshness for each individual order. Our products are made in small batches instead of large quantities to preserve the homemade taste. Our bread is made one loaf at a time!
Thank you so much for supporting our bakeshop. We hope you enjoy all the tasty things we have to offer. If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to visit the “Contact Us” page and let us know what you think.
